Trail & Permit Update January 19, 2026

Winter trail conditions exist, and are extremely dangerous. Currently Anyone traveling above 8500 feet needs to be experienced in ice and snow skills, Should be equipped with helmet, ice axe, and full crampons.

With warm temperatures the snow melts during the day and freezes during the night, making the trails like a skating rink.
