Highway 38 is currently open during the weekends only, allowing access to trailheads at Forsee Creek and South Fork.

February 15,2026 The current snow has created Extreme Winter conditions. It is recommended that you do not attempt to hike and camp in the wilderness. Crampons, ice axe , helmets are necessary. Current weather and temperatures at different altitudes are listed. The mountain will be there another day don’t take chances .
