National Trails Day: South Fork Trail Maintenance

Celebrate National Trails Day with the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association. We're partnering with the U.S. Forest Service for a morning of trail maintenance on the South Fork Trail, the gateway into the Sand to Snow National Monument.

No experience needed. We'll open with a safety talk and a rundown of the day's projects, then get to work. All ages and abilities welcome.

When: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Where: South Fork Trailhead, Jenks Lake Road (about 2.5 miles off Highway 38, near Angelus Oaks)

What to bring: 2 liters of water, sunscreen, a backpack, lunch and snacks, and if you have them, safety glasses and work gloves.

What to wear: Long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes, and a hat.

Please note: All volunteers sign a short U.S. Forest Service volunteer agreement when they arrive. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Space and parking are limited, so please sign up in advance so we can plan tools, gear, and group size.
