The view from Dry Lake View (10,400'). In the background (left to right) are Grinnell Mountain (10,284'), Fish Creek Saddle (9,900'), and Lake Peak (10,161'). The highest point in the right side of the photograph is the summit of San Gorgonio (11,499'). The shadowed ridgeline rising directly in front of San Gorgonio leads to the summit of Jepson Peak (11,205'). In the immediate foreground bottom is the "Jepson Bowl", which rarely sees visitors. There are no trails leading anywhere near this area. This is the jumping off point for winter climbs of the north face of Jepson Peak or ski descents. |
